Talk Business

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Talk Business?

Talk Business is a place for small business owners, entrepreneurs, students of business or anyone interested in starting up a business to meet other like-minded people to grow your network, get ideas, inspiration, new connections, and discuss practical aspects of business. Plus you get to share how your week has been and get support if you need it.

Not at all. Our only requirements are arrive promptly, play nice, be engaged.

It’s essential free but donations are appreciated but not mandatory. Eventually we hope to turn a profit but for now we want no barriers for people coming along.

At present it’s usually around 8-12 but we haven’t promoted it much yet so hope to grow our network to at least 25-30 in the coming weeks. Feel free to bring a friend.

At this stage, yes. But we do plan to start other days and times in the future.

Yes. Each week we have a segment called Spotlight where one person has a minute to pitch their business and then 5 mins Q&A plus we do quick introductions where you say who you are, what you do (or want to do) and how you help people. Getting leads happens but the focus is more meeting, networking and learning from each other.

I think this is an ideal place for someone starting out. There are experienced people who may be able to help you navigate any problems you encounter or lack of knowledge and the discussions provide excellent practical ideas and advice. Even experienced operators know the value of having a larger network of people to bounce ideas off or gain solutions from.

You can talk as much or as little as you like but everyone needs to introduce themselves ie. “I’m Rob, I run Talk Business, we connect people and help solve problems” or “I’m Sally, I’m a real estate agent, if you’re looking for advice about selling, let’s chat.” You don’t need to deliver a pitch but the opportunity will exist.

You send an email to Rob at [email protected] or text 0272997232.
